RiverLand Events

Riverside Events and Venues’ concept of combining events and venues both on land and on the river Thames in one event seems to be really taking off. Many of our quotes naturally follow this concept - what we call ‘RiverLand’ events.  it was great this week to confirm a really interesting event  which followed a client’s request to entertain 200 clients over two or three separate evenings showing them the best of London.

After showing our client a selection of handpicked and interesting venues as well as a number of lovely river cruisers and Thames Sailing Barges, we settled on a plan to split two evenings into two parts each, transporting 50 clients at a time down the Thames on beautiful historic Thames Sailing Barges from just outside the Tower of London, through an opening Tower Bridge all the way down to Greenwich. After taking in the sights of the river with a drinks reception, our clients and their guests will be escorted by our Event Managers to a beautiful historic venue - something of a a hidden gem and a venue which ties in really well with their river journey - for the workshops and entertaining that are so important to achieving their aims. The groups will be returned by river into central London by the same charming river transport. I think that is a much better way to entertain and impress than any mundane or run-of-the-mill hotel meeting room.

We’ve got loads of ideas for mixing great London venues with the river thames to make events stimulating, different, memorable and effective. We just need a brief and we’ll pu it together for you. I really think Riverland events are the next big thing in the London events scene - get in touch and test us with your ideas.

Outdoor Spaces for your Event

With the fantastic weather over the past week or so and a hot hot summer forecasted, outdoor space at London venues is becoming more and more important and desired by our clients. Barbecues, fete style events, and enchanted garden themes all lend themselves to outdoor spaces - and these days barbecues are not just sausage-in-a-bun or burgers, but range from seafood stalls to ice cream vans, pizza shacks to gourmet BBQ canapes, bowl food and sizzling steaks.

Secret Garden

Many of Riverside’s venues in London offer fantastic outdoor spaces ideal for summer entertaining; terraces with stunning views of the river Thames; lush roof gardens; historic courtyards; secret English gardens; expansive sun decks; acres of lawn…perfect spaces in which to create your dream event.

As well as ready-made gardens and terraces, here at Riverside Events we have the contacts and know-how to source top locations where we can erect a bespoke marquee to your exact specification. Event marquees now come in all shapes and sizes and can hold seated dinners, team building events, weddings, parties, Champagne receptions; in fact anything you want!

Lets take advantage of this year’s clement weather and hold a wow-factor event for you in the great outdoors…

Networking, theming it up, and Sticking it On!

It’s great to network, no doubt about it, but I think we all sometimes find excuses not to do it. Both Riverside and Topsail are constantly working on enquiries where the main activity is networking of some kind or another, whether this be industry networking, networking or teambuilding within a company or between departments, or networking with existing clients. Here at Riverside Events & Venues we are constantly trying to come up with events and entertainments that demonstrate all the best aspects of networking and team building.  Right now we are getting really excited about our recent meetings with the Stick it On crew.

We are busy creating and compiling new events with our local Brighton DJ friends that we hope to launch to our Riverside and Topsail clients too. We’re also bringing in other suppliers for expanding these events even more to include cooking skills, and cocktail making skills too…we’re not quite ready to go yet but nearly, so watch this space! What we are making sure of is that these events are going to be lots of fun and will be able to achieve lots of various goals for our clients, all done with a party atmosphere and with the aim of creating great long-lasting memories.

Finally, we like to work with our clients so if any of you out there have any particular ideas or themes that you’d like to work with then just get in touch. We like a challenge and we’ve got the will and the ability to make your ideas work. We believe events should be exciting and stimulating, whether they are on boats or on the land - we want our creativity tested!

By the way, our brand new suppliers who we are now building these new events with - we met them all at networking events recently…so don’t slack, get out there and talk to people!

Happy Easter from Riverside Events Team

Attending RSVP last week was incredibly useful and inspiring; we tried some delicious bowl food, sampled some magic and ‘business card’ tarot readings, sipped Champagne and caught up with our venue suppliers. This year’s exhibition was the best we’ve been to so far, with loads of fabulous entertainers, theme ideas, and more - with a real buzz - all packed into a funky venue, the Business Design Centre in Islington.

We had a great meeting with our long-running web design and search engine marketing company, Freshegg, this morning - who designed this wonderful website for us and also designed the Topsail Events & Charters website many moons ago. We were discussing the ways to keep improving the sites in the coming months and how happy we are with the new Riverside Events & Venues website - plus the best search engine phrases for Riverside such as London venues, corporate events, team building London, themed events; the list is endless… I got back to the office after our meeting to find an Easter egg on my desk - from Freshegg! - many thanks guys and a Happy Easter to all of you.

Our second meeting today was with Tim from renowned Brighton-based club night Stick It On - their legendary nights, which any Tom, Dick or Harry can apply to and play their top 5 tunes and have 15 minutes of fame as a Superstar DJ - always sell out in no time. Stick It On has branched out into corporate events, with some innovative team building and entertaining options - from the Dinner Time Sessions to DJ Democracy, Dedication Sessions and Mixology Events that combine DJ’ing with cocktail mixing with Cocktail Stars. Both Riverside and Topsail Events are going to create packages with Stick It On…Stick It On a Boat anyone?

Happy Easter

Perhaps enough from me for now - Happy Easter to everyone and hope you all enjoy a sunny and fun-filled bank holiday weekend. We’ll be back in the office on Tuesday; perhaps a bit tired but ready as always to answer your enquiries and organise some top parties!
